Alpha2: - complete theme-change for the underground part! (now a shopping/fastfood district - still very basic) - several layout changes to improve connectivity - several changes to weapon placement and pacing - electroshock now hurts more - increased brightness and lighting for almost every part of the map - fixed: sprites not drawn in front of elevator - added: env_beam effect for electroshocks - added: several physics props (still not many) - added: glowing buttons for the elevator - added: lots of minor details... Alpha2a: - many minor texture and geometry changes - fixed: elevator should work much better now - fixed: suitcharger works again - added: ventshaft to the upper area - added: some small changes to the upper parts for easier movement - added: a few props and light fixtures (a lot to be done, still) - added: nocull shaders for transparent metal textures Beta1: - many, many minor fixes - removed the corridor that leads to the ladder (it's now outside) - finally did the proper texturing - refined brushwork at places - changed a few stairs and catwalks - added a few more connections - opened up the mall/underground area - tuned the RPG trap - added: numerous light fixtures - and lights! - added: physics props for better gravegun fights Other notes: The map is set in the slums and abandoned industrial areas of a kilometer-high, futuristic city. Corrugated sheet iron and concrete. Some parts stand underwater. Sunlight falls in small chasms but mostly stays a glow in the distance. I always wanted to make a map based on an over-sized, futuristic, dirty city since I saw The Fifth Element. With "3006" I'm trying to build a map that comes as close to my ideas as possible. I'm sticking to the available texture set for the time being. The filesize is big enough anyway... Lighting is a very important part of the visuals, so don't forget to turn on HDR, if your graphics card allows! I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions regarding the map. If you know how I could make it better, even if it's just a detail, please post any constructive criticism in the Snarkpit map profile.
