Description:
Canyon 2 is a medium sized capture the flag map set in a canyon. It features
fast paced battles in both open and closed spaces. The mid arena of the map
features a lot of verticality and multiple entrances into the enemy base on
different height levels. Within the bases, you'll find open rooms to fight in,
as well as hallways and choke points to lay ambush.

The objective of the map is to make it to the enemy computer room, located in
the basement inside their base, steal their flag, and take it back to your own
flag. There are multiple entrances into the enemy base, each with their own
strengths and weaknesses to an attacker. The main entrance gives you plenty of
room to maneuver and fight your enemies, but you'll have to cross the bridge
in the center of the map to get there, which might be risky. The pipes, located
just below the bridge offers an entrance protected from enemy snipers, but
you'll be an easier target for ambushes due to how cramped they are. The sewers
are a flanking route for sneakier players, leading straight to the enemy flag
room. A perfect way in for stealthy players, as long as no one is guarding it,
of course...

To pick up the enemy flag, your own flag has to be secured within your base.
You can NOT grab the enemy flag if the enemy has moved your flag! Luckily, all
you have to do to send your own flag back to your base is simply to touch it.
This leads to a gameplay dynamic where you still have a chance to prevent your
flag from being captured if the enemy has brought it to their side of the map,
but you'll also have to defend your own flag if you want to be able to pick up
the enemy flag in the first place.

Canyon 2 is a remake of my first ever GoldSource map, Canyon. I've learned a
lot about mapping and game design since making the original Canyon, and I can
safely say that Canyon 2 is an improvement in every way. There are more
routes between areas, the combat arenas are way more interesting, and overall
the map is just plain more fun to play! I sincerely thank you for downloading
Canyon 2, and I hope you'll check out my other maps, both past and future,
as well!

Special thanks to the community at TWHL and Wall: Source Studios for helping
with playtesting!
