My entry for the first (and probably only) microchallenge, from [url=http://twhl.co.za/forums.php?thread=16854]this[/url] thread.

 It's a scene depicted from the short story, [i]Tideline[/i], by Elizabeth Bear. In it, is depicted [i]Chalcedony[/i], the last of the war machines, stranded on a beach for the rest her days, accompanied only by her friend Belvedere, depicted by you the player.

I usually try not to uplaod smallish, prefab-like stuff to the vault, but i feel this turned out really good.

There is no gameplay element, just basically a little eyecandy. I apologize for the very squarish terrain, but otherwise the scene is mostly complete. If i ever update this again, i will (besides fixing the terrain) add some elements to Chalcedony herself, which were mentioned in the story but i forgot to implement:

cargo nets (holding together chalcedony's carapace)
nets full of shells hung from her body
"big floods" attached to her body
"heat damage" caused by the crippling attack that stranded her on the beach
